HOW TO DEAL WITH MENTAL NEGATIVITY


If you are bombarded by thoughts of anger, revenge, dissatisfaction, forms of negativity or you feel controlled by your mind, here is some good news:

YOU ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS!

How can you know this? Try this little exercise:

Sit back, relax and get comfortable.

Close your eyes and start to pay attention to the voice in your head.

If you can hear the voice, that PROVES you are not the voice.

YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THE VOICE!

The voice in your head is your collection of thoughts, images, memories and beliefs. If you are aware that you are not the voice, it cannot limit you, shame you, influence or control you.

Take this for example, imagine a person you were speaking to recently and listen the words they are saying. You obviously know that what they are saying is coming from their mind and their mouth. Now imagine this person asking you for a glass of water, it would be YOUR CHOICE to grab them a glass, you do not have too get them water.

In the same way our minds consist of repetitive negative dialogue that we confuse to be our own voice. Sometimes the voice does not have any nice things to say or kind requests like your friend. We do not have to listen to every request it has especially if it is detrimental to you like addiction for example.

Realizing the inner dialogue is not your voice gives you options, other possibilites and most importantly the freedom to choose!. Most people innocently operate on auto-pilot and follow the voice blindly - this is what people call "unconscious"

Awakening to the fact that stories in your mind are just that - STORIES, can give you the option to walk away from inner negativity and can also assist you in living a conscious, authentic and fulfilled life! Happy choices! <3
